Your Trusted Voice in Eau Claire County

About Me

IMG_6568.JPG

I was born and raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in a family of 10 children.  My dad was a self-made successful businessman who graduated from high school during the depression.  My mom never completd high school because she had to work.  I was the first female in my family to graduate from college, with a journalism degree from UW-Madison.  Hard work and hand me down clothes were the rule of the day.

I started my journalism career at TV-13 in Eau Claire, WI and eventually moved to larger markets in Atlanta, GA and Minneapolis, MN.  After 20 years in the broadcast industry, I came home and started my own recruitment business.  Upon retiring, I became active with a group committed to saving Lake Altoona, and then became more involved in the community by winning a seat on the Eau Claire County Board. Now I plan to give our community an even bigger voice at higher levels of government.  It's time to work together to create a better community for everyone.

My Priorities

Keeping Our Communities Safe: We must make sure our streets are safe for our kids and families. Unfortunately, soft-on-crime policies have left the door open for criminals, and weak policies at the southern border have resulted in a rise in human trafficking and drug abuse here at home. As your representative in the Assembly, I will work to strengthen our laws to hold criminals accountable, keep violent offenders off our streets, support law enforcement, and defend our southern border.

Addressing Rising Costs:

Families across Wisconsin are continuing to feel the squeeze of inflation as they walk down the aisle at the grocery store or sit down to balance their checkbook. That's why I will fight to continue reducing the tax burden on the middle class, retirees, and those with kids in childcare. We must make sure you are able to keep more of your hard-earned money and stop destructive efforts to raise your taxes.

Supporting Quality Healthcare Access:

Wisconsinites deserve access to high-quality healthcare, and I will work to ensure they have it. I support protecting those with pre-existing conditions from losing their health coverage, and will work to find additional common sense solutions to increase access and reduce the cost of care across the state.
